Burrard Inlet is, of course, a working stretch of water, so barges of all sorts pass by. 

Interesting collection of condos on a barge...

This picture is meant to convey the vast number of docks just south of Deep Cove (and north of Cates Park). They make an interesting contrast with the crumbling docks we saw earlier on our paddle west of Cates Park.

It was fun paddling underneath these docks, attached to multi-million dollar homes. 

A bit artsy to conclude the trip. 

Kayaking from Cates Park west

Starting at 9:30 and finishing at 12:30, we paddled west from Cate Park to the Burrard IR and then turned back, went past the boat launch at Cates Park on to Grey Rocks, from where we returned to Cates Park.
